Job Description:


  • Candidate is Preferred to have hands on experience during Process safety Implementation (Dupont/CCPS/OSHA) in their organization and good in tracking Leading/Lagging indicator for PSM.
  • The Process Safety Candidate must be capable of identifying process hazards, evaluating the risk of those hazards, and assist in the development of effective solutions to mitigate risk.
  • Strong Knowledge of Reaction like Hydrogenation, Oxidation, Grignard Reaction and Vacuum Distillation.
  • Knowledge about various process equipment, Utility equipment like Compressor, Chiller, Boiler, N2 Plant, Vacuum system, Reactor, HE, Dist. Column etc., its operation and expected hazards during operation.
  • Able to conduct what-if and HAZOP study as chairman.
  • The Process Safety Candidate must be familiar with the fourteen elements of Process Safety Management (PSM) and the EPA’s Risk Management Plan (RMP) rule.
  • Preference will be given to Process Safety candidates familiar with NFPA 30; IL state pressure vessel requirements; IL state atmospheric storage tank requirements; and experience interfacing with insurance carriers (Factory Mutual).
  • The Chemical Process Safety Candidate responsibilities may include the following:
  • Lead Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) on existing and new processes
  • Provide oversight for the site Management of Change (MOC) Process
  • Manage the site PHA schedule and recommendation implementation plan.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for incidents and near misses
  • Provide oversight and conduct audits for Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR)
  • Provide mentoring and training for site personnel.
  • Participate on teams responsible to implement new products and processes.
  • Good Experience in understanding P&IDs with respect to various equipment, instruments and processes.  
  • Ability to review P&IDs from a safety perspective and provide comments to the design team.
  • Experience in understanding logic and interlocks with respect to various systems.
  • Experience in hazard identification and protective device sizing with respect to various processes.
  • Co-ordinate with project execution team on process safety requirement communication & support.
  • Should able to handle and manage various stakeholders in the project.
  • Good communication skill is a must and should be good in technical writing in English.* Experience in Microsoft Word/Excel/Presentation etc Experience in plant operation and familiarity with various process equipment will be an added advantage. 
  • Communicate with onsite/offshore team for executing the projects.
  • Establish and maintain an awareness of HS&E across the discipline within assigned
  • To Determine the Major Accident Hazard events and to apply a formalized approach of Hazard Management to identify and provide means of mitigation and reduction of such hazards.
